Landscape Design in Los Angeles
Resort-style grounds — planting, lighting and outdoor rooms designed for indoor-outdoor California living.
In Southern California, the yard is another set of rooms
The best months here are spent outside — but only if the yard invites you out. Thoughtful landscape design turns leftover space into places you actually use: a shaded lounge, a dinner table under lights, a garden that looks alive in every season. Designed and built by one team, so the vision that looked so good on paper survives construction.
- Rooms that pull you outside
- Beauty in every season
- Low-maintenance, not low-effort

What affects the investment
Every project is priced to its scope — no two are identical. These are the factors that move the number. Typical range: $75K–$300K.
Size & terrain
Larger lots and sloped or terraced yards take more material, grading and labor.
Planting & irrigation
Mature specimens, the density of planting and a smart irrigation system all move the number.
Lighting & systems
Layered landscape lighting, drainage and low-voltage systems add both value and cost.
Outdoor rooms
Lounges, dining areas and shade structures scale the project up from planting alone.
Material palette
Stone, decking and specialty planting can swing the budget significantly.
Access & site prep
Tight access, existing removals and grading are the unglamorous costs that add up.
Grounds that extend how you live outside
Every landscape is designed around your home, your climate, and how you want to live outdoors. Here's what your project can typically include.
Drought-smart planting
Climate-appropriate palettes that look lush and stay sustainable.
Layered landscape lighting
Evening ambiance and safety, designed as part of the whole.
Outdoor rooms
Lounges, dining and fire areas that make the yard genuinely livable.
Designed with the architecture
The landscape and the home read as one considered project.
See how we build — from studs to finish
Not stock footage. Real Bela job sites — the framing, the systems behind the walls, and the finish we hand over.

An old garage transformed into a full second-story home — a kitchen and light-filled living room, laundry, a walk-in shower bath and two bedrooms, framed up over the existing garage.

Electrical, plumbing and AC ducting organized and set before a single wall closes — the rigor that makes a home last.

Custom millwork stained to match, new floors, fresh paint and recessed lighting — the level of finish we hand over.
Real homeowners, real projects
Every story comes from a real homeowner. Watch their experience or read the full Google review.
“I feel lucky and fortunate to have worked with Bela Development on a major renovation project! It was an entire renovation on the house that I grew up in — so many details I wanted to keep, while still modernizing the whole home, inside and out…”

Questions, answered
Do you design and build, or just design?
Both — under one roof. The design and the crews that install it are the same team, which is why the finished yard matches the plan you approved.
How long does a landscape project take?
Most run 8–16 weeks, depending on scope, hardscape and how much planting is involved.
Can you work with drought restrictions?
Yes — climate-appropriate, drought-smart planting is how we design here by default. Lush and sustainable aren't opposites in Southern California when it's planned right.
Do you handle hardscape too?
We do — patios, walls, decks and fire features. Landscape and hardscape are designed together so the whole yard reads as one project. See our Hardscape page for that side of the work.
Do you install lighting and irrigation?
Yes. Layered lighting and efficient irrigation are designed in from the start, not added on later.
