Where we began.
This Mar Vista home was reimagined from the curb in as a two-story modern-farmhouse residence. A crisp exterior — vertical board-and-batten siding, black-framed windows and a new garage — gives way to an open main floor where the living room, dining area and a chef's kitchen flow together and out to the backyard through full-height sliding walls. Upstairs, a private primary suite opens to its own balcony and a spa-grade bath, paired with a custom walk-in closet, additional bedrooms and a wet bar. Warm wood floors, a wood-and-steel staircase, brass fixtures and a calm material palette run throughout — a relaxed, high-end home built for the way Southern Californians live.

Bringing a tired floor plan up to a contemporary, open standard meant rethinking the layout, modernizing every system and tying a fresh exterior, new windows and indoor-outdoor connection together — without losing the warmth that makes a house feel like home.
The Solution
Bela rebuilt the home top to bottom: a reconfigured open-concept main floor, a modern-farmhouse facade with board-and-batten siding and black-framed windows, full-height sliding doors to the yard, a chef's kitchen, a wood-and-steel staircase, and an upstairs primary suite with a private balcony, custom walk-in closet and spa bath — plus drought-tolerant landscaping and a new patio.
Final Outcome
A light, airy two-story home where living space, kitchen and backyard read as one, and the upstairs suite feels like a private retreat. Clean lines, warm woods and brass accents give it a calm, collected, high-end feel inside and out.
